I have been canoeing the wilderness rivers of Vancouver Island since the early ‘60s, riding the whitewater with my Dad from about age two. There were a lot more fish back then, but the adventure of canoe camping has only grown. My approach to the whitewater has changed however, I now stop and “play” at all the rapids possible, surfing and working the whitewater. Having guided friends and their friends on scores of wilderness adventures over the years I have worked hard at determining what does and does not make for an exceptional expedition. We use only top quality canoes and camping equipment and select rivers for their thrill and adventure factors always keeping safety at the forefront. Wildlife and wilderness photography and other art opportunities abound. For a morning thrill, a multi night canoe camping expedition or a hike to some of the worlds largest trees in the Pacific Rim Rainforest- The Wilderquest Adventure Co. delivers! We now offer two premium log cabins for nightly and weekly accommodations. Overlooking a wildlife pond and the spectacular Strait of Juan de Fuca and Olympic mountains this first cabin features a woodstove, all amenities and 50 beautiful acres of Westcoast Rainforest with waterfalls and many trails and private beach access.

Many of our crew are practicing Advanced and Basic Life Support Paramedics and all our guides are RCABC Moving Water 3 + 4 certified. Wilderquest is dedicated to providing a first class outdoor adventure with years of practical knowledge and premium gear to support any expedition. Our canoe trips are unique, accessing some Westcoast rivers by steep-slope rappelling, others by spectacular helicopter, floatplane or water-taxi on Vancouver Island. We truly go where the other guys don’t know exist.
