Looking for a unique, personal wilderness adventure?
The Wilderquest Adventure Co. offers canoe trips from
half to six day or more camping in the pristine isolation
of British Columbia's whitewater wilderness. Our full
participation attitude means you paddle, portage, help
set up camp and then relax after a hearty gourmet chef
prepared dinner to enjoy the night sky and crackling
campfire. You can rappel into spectacular gorges to
your canoe, drift aimlessly on a hidden mountain lake,
or venture into Vancouver Islands' coastal Rainforests
to some of the worlds largest trees. Wildlife photography,
sketching and other artistic pursuits fit in easily
on our trips. In Spring 2003 we open our first deluxe
log cabin on 50 forested acres. For those wishing a
base for a day of paddling, bird-watching or to access
any of the dozens of local and Westcoasts' exciting
vacation opportunities you can contemplate your options
relaxing in front of a blazing woodstove, overlooking
the magnificent Olympic Mountains. Inquire as to rates
and availability. New page coming soon, check it out!

At the headwaters of the Elk River deep in the Canadian
Rockies a Wilderquest Guide solos
his canoe in the grandeur of the 10 000 foot peaks.
Most every species of larger mammals call the Elk Valley
home.
Below, a Wilderquest Guide maneuvers his 16 foot whitewater
canoe through some Class 11 water on the Upper Elk River,
Rocky Mountains.
What is the Wilderquest Adventure Co.?
We are a group of wilderness adventure specialists
with a common interest in exploring all aspects of our
great outdoors. Our primary focus is on whitewater canoe
adventure expeditions from half to six day trips. We
also coordinate and guide a variety of other outdoor
adventures from big tree tours to ocean kayaking. No
Himalayan expeditions but good, challenging outdoor
activities demanding active participation by all.

Several of our guides are practicing paramedics, all
are certified in First Aid and have R.C.A.B.C. Level
3+4 Moving Water Certification. We have extensive outdoor
experience and are highly motivated to provide an atmosphere
of encouragement and teamwork to our guests. It’s
you, your gear, canoe and the river. We use only top
line equipment and set the highest standards for all
our journeys from meals to camp selection to guidance
through the wilderness. For your holiday 2003 think
about getting back to the roots of our nation - try
a Wilderquest Adventure! On the right, afavourite lunch
spot on the Upper San Juan river.
We supply canoes, paddles and all safety gear (PFD’s,
helmets etc.), wetsuits, camping gear including tents
with tarps and groundsheets, sleeping pads and bags
and eating utensils. And a canoe adventure we know you'll
not forget. You require spare clothes and wettable footwear
- (sneakers) and possibly raingear. Local outfitters
here in Sooke can supply anything you need in terms
of outdoor gear, which we can have delivered to our
office, ready for your departure.
Persons
wishing to participate in our whitewater adventures
must have some canoe experience, otherwise just a desire
to enjoy a great Wilderquest Adventure. For those less
inclined towards the faster pace we know more than a
few pristine wilderness lakes suited to paddlers of
any ability. Trip details regarding clothing, times
and features and highlights of each trip available upon
request and at time of registration.
We will custom fit any canoeing adventure to meet your
own personal needs, sketching, photography, running
that fast water over again or just marveling at the
beauty of spectacular Vancouver Island. You can be back
for dinner or 7 nights out – it’s your choice!
Make this holiday one to remember, plan on adding a
Wilderquest Adventure to your schedule..
